- Long, black tail with small amount of white on outer tail feathers and
outer corner
- Sexes similar
- Juvenile (Spring to Fall) much browner, streaked below with faint adult
face pattern, white throat
Similar species:
The Black-throated sparrow is very distinctive. Somewhat similar Sage
and Five-striped Sparrows have white throats. Juveniles similar to juvenile
Sage Sparrow but has brighter supercilium
