The layer was created using the Arc/Info GENERATE command with the
FISHNET option to create a grid coverage with a side of 21475 meters. To
select the polygons to be included in the coverage, the coverage was
overlayed on BCRMAP; then an info file was created from the STATISTICS
command in tables with grid ids containing a bcr number; this was joined
to the grid file; and a new coverage was created by reselecting only the
grid ids which overlap the BCR; The edit option of the arctools command
was used to delete the portion covering Mexico and Northern Canada.
After creating the grid coverage, created a point coverage and
intersected this with BCRMAP, STMAP and STRATAMAP. Created an info file
with this information. The JOINITEM command was used to add the BCR
code, State abbreviation and ID number, and the BBS strata code. Missing
information was entered with the edit option of arctools. The coverage
was then projected from lambert_azmuthal to albers. The ARCSHAPE command
was used to create a shape file.
