This award is named in honor of Dr. James Nichols, who continues to inspire generations of wildlife biologists and quantitative ecologists, and who has made a huge contribution to shaping Patuxent into an outstanding center for research on population and community ecology. Providing training for dedicated people who could not otherwise afford to travel so easily is very much in the spirit of Patuxent and of Jim Nichols.
The travel award covers the costs of attending a Patuxent workshop, (i.e., flight and accommodation and a waiver for the workshop fee and a dinner at one of his favorite restaurants).
Applicants should send their CV (with email contact info of up to 2 references), a 1-page statement of their (current or planned) research and a letter in which they explain their reasons for applying to:
Andy Royle (hmecology@gmail.com).
