WISCONSIN FROG AND TOAD SURVEY

Welcome to the home page of the Wisconsin Frog and Toad Survey (WFTS), a volunteer program coordinated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey and the North American Amphibian Monitoring Program (NAAMP). The WFTS was initiated in 1981 to help determine the status and population trends of Wisconsin's 12 species of frogs and toads. Survey data are collected annually by cooperators who note the distinctive calls of each species along permanent roadside routes. For more information, click on the following topics.
